Hi there!
I’m Brynn Van Beek.
In May of 2021, I graduated from Grand View University with a B.A. in Graphic Journalism with minors in Mass Communication & English. While there I worked at GV’s student publication, Viewfinder, where I held roles of Reporter, Photographer, Arts & Entertainment Editor, Creative Director, and eventually Editor in Chief. Watching Viewfinder and the students involved grow over many years was an incredibly rewarding experience.
My senior year I interned at Walnut Creek Church in Des Moines as a Design Specialist where I completed a number of various projects to support their college ministry. During that time I also worked with Polk County Health Services as their Communications Intern and learned the ins and outs of non-profit work. There I developed a passion for that specific field and realized that I can tell stories in a variety of ways and have a positive impact through the work I do.
Currently I’m working as a Content Marketing Assistant for Church Hill Classics and completing freelance graphic design and copywriting projects part time. In August of 2021 I married my best friend and moved to Providence, Rhode Island! In Providence we’ve been developing our careers, exploring the city, building relationships, and drinking extensive amounts of craft coffee.
